Publishing websites

Hello everyone!
This week, we are near the end of the semester for this class and finally we are learning on how to publicly publish our websites on the web. There are different techniques that can be used to publish our websites on the web and we are learning each one of them in class. This is something that every web developer is going to do when they are finished with their work and I can't wait to publish my work towards potential job recruiters that I can perform in developing websites.

Web Authorizing Tools

This week, we are learning about how to utilize Web Authoring Tools for working on our websites to make our lives easier in terms of coding new and existing elements in a web page. The most popular web tool that were going to be utilizing is Adobe Dreamweaver. I've never dealt with Dreamweaver before so this is going to be an interesting learning experience for me. But if this software tool is suppose to make my life easier in coding websites, then I'll give it a try then.

Media and Interactivity Basics

Hello everyone!!

This week we are learning how to code different types of media into our web pages that include photos and videos by using different interactivity techniques into our web pages to make them pop and stand out. The interactivity techniques will include using Adobe Flash player, Quicktime, Windows Media player, etc... The techniques will also introduce to a new coding language that compliments HTML and CSS coding languages called JavaScript that can allow a web page to do some interactive functions in a web page like photo slideshows. This week is going to be very interesting in the learning process.

Form Basics

Hello everyone!!

This week we are learning about how to create and code different types of forms on HTML and CSS for better interactivity for the users that are visiting my website. It was a lot of information to process in the chapter but, I think that It's important to have in every website because the forms will help collect personal info from the users and then helps them answer their specific questions on a particular product or service. It will also even collect reservations and transactions for any business that you are trying to promote on the website.

Table Basics

Hello everyone! sorry that I didn't wrote last weeks blog, I was taking a vacation break down at Florida to get some sun and doing a lot of fishing. But enough of that, this week I am learning about how to implement tables into my web pages. It's kinda like creating a Microsoft excel document with data cells in the table with a border outside of the table but we get to learn how to code them on the HTML tables on CSS.

This sounds like an interesting lesson because we are creating a table onto our web pages with multiple styles of how many rows and columns we get to implement in creating organized data into our web pages.

Page Layout Basics

Hello Everyone!!

This week, we are learning about the page layout basics and configuring them onto our websites by using CSS coding to rearrange the web pages. We will also be learning how to use different types of positioning techniques with CSS, how to use the floating technique with CSS, add interactivity to the hyperlinks of our websites, and being able to configure the navigation in unordered lists and style with CSS in this chapter. This chapter has been pretty easy in figuring out what to code in the homework, since it's mostly explaining in how to organize the page layouts in your web pages more in depth.

More CSS Basics

Hello everyone!!
This week, we are learning more CSS basics that we can implement onto our websites like adding in borders, background images, margin alignments, etc... This chapter overall has been pretty boring to read because there's more lessons on using CSS basics. However, it will definitely be beneficial for me when I start creating my project website soon.

Graphics Styling Basics

This week, we are learning on how to insert images and animations into our websites. We are also learning how to code specific image files, font types, alignment changes, etc... This is probably going to be my favorite chapter to learn throughout the semester because this is where I can be more creative in selecting different types of media into my web pages. I am still having a hard time in figuring out how to code certain areas when asking to do specific things through our lab assignments but I think I'll figure that out as long as I am following the class materials online.

Cascading Style Sheet Basics

This week, we are learning about using CSS basics in developing our websites. I haven't started reading chapter 4 yet because I have been really busy in applying for jobs, networking people and having phone interviews with multiple companies for full time positions. So thats been my major priority but tomorrow I am going to mainly focus on my time on doing class work including on reading the chapter for this week and getting started on my website project. I always wonder on what CSS coding is like and what's so different about HTML coding. I guess thats what I'm about to find out today in class through our hands on activity today.

Group Evaluation Presentation

This week in Web 150, we are going to present our assign websites to the whole class in groups about our critiques in how our assign website is structured, its capability in utilizing multiple browsers, how organized the layout of each web page is throughout the entire website, and how functional our website is that has photos and videos in the website.

All of us as a group was given parts of the assignment equally in critiquing the assigned website that we're going to be writing an executive summary as our only weekly assignment that's due Sunday night. This is going to be an easy week for me because I'm not going to be having a lot of homework to do but also my topic was approved so I can get started on my website project that's due in the end of the semester.

Web Design Basics

This week in class, I've learned a lot of the very basics of web visual design that is used to create a visually appealing website. Some of the stuff I've already learned at Illinois State like what type of browsers are the most popular to use on the web and on mobile formats. I also learned some the formats and techniques that were used on my own building my own online portfolio and blogs to make them appealing towards my target audience. I liked this chapter a lot because it shows you different visual web design techniques to use in certain situations and that this is something that I will use for my career in digital marketing and web development.

HTML Basics

This is the second week of this course and I'm learning the basics of using HTML coding. As I've been reading the second chapter, it's goes into detail on what coding elements to use to do certain functions and where to write the code under certain elements. Also in order to write HTML coding, you would have to write the tag of what kind of command you want your code to do on a web page and then end the code with the same tag that was used before you wrote the code.

It was a very interesting experience that I'm being able to write whatever message I want to write on and use different tag elements to make the message perform certain commands on a web page.

Hello everyone,

This is the first week of blogging this site for Web 150 at Harper College. I'm very excited to be in the classroom environment, where I can use my creativity skills to the use and be open minded in figuring out how to code different pages and customize them in each one.

I've had some previous experience in creating a blog through school and my free time, while using google analytics to measure data from my web page so this semester is going to be a lot of fun and challenging for me. I can't wait to learn new ideas and techniques to use them for my career in the digital marketing world!!
